University Information
Universities are a vital partner in the development of the growing life sciences industry. To that end, we have developed a number of avenues that will enable university technology transfer officials to become involved in the conference. This event will showcase the emerging companies spun from biomedical research institutions from all along the East Coast.
- University and medical center technology transfer representatives will have an opportunity to nominate companies linked to their research portfolio to give a presentation to venture capitalists at the conference. A review committee composed of venture capitalists from across the nation will conduct the final screening of candidate companies, and offer selected companies the opportunity to present to an estimated 500 participants representing venture capitalists and Fortune 100 companies. Contact gbutera@bio.org to nominate firms, or encourage them to directly apply through this Web site.
- Universities will be able to nominate one (1) very early-stage company that is 12-18 months from serial funding to participate in a pre-conference boot camp to prepare it for future presentations. There is no cost to this university-nominated attendee for the bootcamp. Click here for more information.
- Universities and medical centers will have an opportunity to network both days of the conference at a deeply discounted university registration fee of $295 per attendee. To get the university discounted rate when registering online through our general registration form, select “academic” as your classification and continue.
Other benefits of attending include:
- Learning first-hand current trends in the financial markets and their impacts on early-stage biotechnology companies as seen by industry and venture capital leaders from across the nation
- Pro-actively developing relationships with venture and other financial providers
- Being a part of regional efforts to promote industry-university collaborations
